Shabby Coffee Table $95 & Desk Refinish

I have decided to offer some of the larger pieces that I am putting together for Serendipity on my blog for anyone to purchase before the sale. You must be able to pick it up or I can deliver it nearby. It is finished it duck egg blue and old white with a wax finish. I love this piece and love that the inside is pretty large for lots of storage! You may email me at amandacarmickle@hotmail.com or call me 435-790-5633 to purchase or inquire questions about the coffee table.

I also just finished a piece for myself! I found this desk at a yard-sale! I painted the craft room a few weeks ago. My dad and Brandon hauled the desk up for me Sunday. Lets just say if it ever comes back down it isn’t coming down in one piece! It is pretty solid! Special thanks to them! I finished lining the drawers today and am still working on organizing the room.

I sanded the top down to remove the finish and a little bit of red and black paint. I finished it with a  dark stain and wax. The rest of the desk was also finished in duck egg blue and old white. I have waxed it once but am waiting on a aging wax to decide if I want to recoat it with that.

I had planned to line the drawers with fabric but ran into this $3 roll of wrapping paper at Wal-Mart! It worked out much more cost effective and I love it! I just cut it to size and used spray adhesive to stick it to the drawers!

I look forward to more furniture posts coming soon!

  8. The paint job on the little end table really is fun and updates it nicely. The desk is fabulous and I love that you used a different colour for the pulls. I found a similar one this week curbside, though not as large as yours. I gave it a quick sanding and I'm painting it black. The first coat is done and it is looking better already.
